So What Is This?

Pray Around the World
I realized one day that our family had two needs.  One was prayer and the other, geography.  We needed to learn to pray for others more and we didn’t know where most countries were located on a map.  So I thought how could we focus on both needs, keep it fun, and yet make it meaningful?  So, I came up with an addition to our Monday through Thursday morning devotions.  We would “pray around the world.”
This year we plan to focus on one country a week, to pray for that country and know a little more about it.  My hope is that we pray for at least 45 countries over the next year, and maybe even more.  We will work through one continent at a time, looking at all the major countries on each continent.
Our purpose is three fold.  First, we want our children to see that the world is much bigger than their one acre in Ingleside, Maryland.  Second, we want to pray for the people of the world in a more specific way.  Thirdly, we want our children to learn some Geography.
So as we chronicle our journey around the world, we invite you to join us.  Our hope is that God would expand our hearts and minds even as He opens our eyes to see a bigger world.
We would love feedback from anyone who comes along with us on the journey.  Tell us what your family is doing.  We look forward to praying around the world with you.
